This is Yellowstone's most popular tour which we offer every day. Old Faithful is located in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone Park. The geyser basins along the Firehole River contain more geysers than the rest of the world combined. This tour ravels along the Madison River to Madison Junction and then turns south along the Firehole River, through the Lower, Middle, and Upper Geyser Basins to the Old Faithful Area. After lunch and a viewing of one of Old Faithful's famous eruptions we return to West Yellowstone, stopping along the way to visit the Fountain Paint Pot Area. Tours also include stops for the abundant wildlife seen along the way.
This tour travels to our favorite destination in the Park: The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River with the Upper and Lower Falls. The tour travels along the Madison River where trumpeter swans, bald eagles, elk, bison and coyotes are common sites. At Madison Junction we turn north along the Gibbon River with a stop at the nearly 90 ft tall Gibbon Falls. Beryl Spring and the Norris Geyser Basin are also possible and popular stops enroute to the canyon. A side trip to Hayden Valley is generally worth the time as it has some of the best wildlife viewing in the park. This tour is also offered daily. You will need to bring your own lunches or purchase a boxed lunch as there is no food service at the Canyon Area.
Many of our guests like to take a short ski or snowshoe trip in conjunction with their snowcoach tour. Options are available at both the Old Faithful and Canyon Areas for these snowshoe or ski trips. At Old Faithful we recommend the Bisquit Basin - Castle Geyser route, meeting up with the snowcoach at Old Faithful. At the Canyon Area we love the Canyon Rim trail for great views of the Canyon and the Waterfalls. Another option at the Canyon Area is the Dunraven Pass Trail.
Yellowstone Expeditions operates the Yellowstone Yurt Camp near the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. The Yurt Camp is the perfect place for skiers, snowshoers, or photographers to spend several days experiencing the solitude of winter in Yellowstone.
